Furnace Operator/Inspector

Will Train!

3rd shift 10:00 pm to 6:30 am


Primary Responsibility

  • Assist senior Furnace Operator/Inspector to address bottleneck areas as first priority.  Bottleneck areas include inspection, HC/MS testing, sandblasting, tray cleaning/painting, load building for all furnaces.


Sintering Duties:

  • Assist senior Furnace Operator/Inspector to load products into the furnaces and unload products from furnaces.
  • Transfer sintered products from sintered trays to cardboard or other containers.
  • Assist senior Furnace Operator/Inspector to do Metallurgical testing on sintered products.
  • Perform sandblasting duties as required.
  • Assist senior Furnace Operator/Inspector to clean up tray coating, sintering and inspection areas.
  • Clean sintered trays and graphite shims manually or using tray cleaning machine.
  • Remove graphite plugs from products.
  • Assist senior Furnace Operator/Inspector to do continuous improvement project in tray coating, sintering and inspection area.
  • Assist senior Furnace Operator/Inspector to process orders in Cetec, SAP and Access database programs.


Inspection Duties:

  • Perform 100% sorts under the instruction from Teamleader and senior Furnace Operator/Inspector.


Education, Training &/or Experience (Preferred - Will Train):

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Blue print reading training.
  • Knowledge of QA inspection methods and product certification processes an asset.
  • Knowledge in sintering related procedures an asset.
  • Good technical and mechanical skills.
  • Communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • Intermediate work-related computer and software experience.
  • Good interpersonal and organization and teamwork skills.  Able to work well within a team environment.
  • Trained in all sintering and inspection ISO procedures and sintering work instructions.


Must be able to lift 30 lbs frequently and wear all required PPE.
