Shift: 8-hour 2nd shift

Wage: $44.34/hr + $0.75/hr shift premium

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and repair of plant equipment, including electronic components.
  • Troubleshooting hydraulic and pneumatic circuits.
  • Machining of parts required by maintenance department.
  • Preventive maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • After a familiarization period on first shift, the successful candidate may be required to work other shifts, including Saturdays.

 

Basic qualifications for maintenance technician:

Applicants will be considered based on but not limited to, the following criteria:

 

  • A Journeyman Certificate of IP Qualification in the trade of Industrial Mechanic/Millwright (Canadian recognized). Red Seal certification preferred. OR A diploma in Electronics Technology.
  • Have good communications skills in English and good inter-personal skills and initiative.
  • Have good organization and team skills, be self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision.
  • Be in good health and able to perform lifting duties when required.
  • Have a good attendance record.
  • The successful candidate may eventually be required to pursue training in a complementary field to become a multi-skilled maintenance person.
  • The successful candidate may be asked to work on Saturdays, and all shifts. 
  • The successful applicant will be expected to progress to higher skill levels in a reasonable period of time.
