Position Background

Title: Executive Manufacturing Round Tools

Location: Bengaluru 

Education & Relevant Experience (in brief):

  • Bachelor’s Degree Engineering (Mechanical OR Industrial Production).
  • Desirable to have 3 - 7 years of shop floor experience & in managing a team of 20 or more members.
  • Sound knowledge of “Round tools and knowledge of SAP” is essential.
  • Individual should have excellent communication skills, & knowledge of Microsoft office suits and possess in depth knowledge of Grinding process
  • Have analytical mind and high-level technology orientation.
  • Willing to aspire a long term career plan with Kennametal.

  • Must have hands on Experience on conventional and CNC/Grinding, machines & special process of grinding.
  • Setting daily/Weekly /monthly objectives and communicate them to employees.
  • Organize workflow by assigning responsibilities and preparing schedules.
  • Overseeing and coach employees in shopfloor to improve the culture.
  • Ensure safe use of equipment and schedule regular maintenance.
  • Train new employees on how to safely use machinery and follow procedures.
  • Submit reports on performance and progress related to man and machine.

Example: OEE, Scrap, Employee skill management, shipment

  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Achieve KPI’S related to Safety, quality, Delivery, cost, and People.
  • Able to handle & run the machine in case of problem and demonstrate to the operator.
  • Know about the Inspection measuring system and able to inspect and clear the part for   production running.
  • Must have good understanding related to GD&T. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • This position reports to the Product Unit Leader & Supervises direct work force in BN04 & BN14 plants the intent of achieving defined goals such as Safety, Delivery Lead Times, Daily/Monthly output schedules, Safety Quality, Financials etc.

 

  • The position is responsible for monitoring daily activities in Shop floor lead workmen through training and application of Lean Manufacturing & Quality tools to produce quality products meeting customer expectations on Lead times and have proper, timely communication with the workforce.
  • Participate and lead cross functional teams to evaluate and implement process.

Improvements, engage workmen through open communications and providing relevant training to develop and maintain good harmonious work atmosphere and eliciting their participation in Continuous Improvement activities.

  • On a day-to-day basis, leverage resources within area of accountability to execute plan.

     Conducting regular Tier meeting with workforce, ensuring Safety focus and awareness to  

            people and encourage people to participate & findings on F&F & Job observations

  • Participation in interdepartmental safety walks focus on quality aspects such as scrap reduction and monitoring IPPM, Setup approval, final inspection, layer process audits

     Training people on quality tools

 

  • Encourage people to participate in quality training and findings such as Quality find & fix Handling Complaints and queries related to CRM, Manpower planning - Shift list, Load- planning to CNC grinders, Daily Output Monitoring in shopfloor, WIP tracking and managing & handling expedites requests

 

  • Coordinating with support functions Maintenance, Plant engineering and ensure smooth. Functioning in shopfloor, also Monitoring the Ontime & delivery performance &lead times as per Commitment

 

  • Monitoring linearity-level loading in production shipments & focusing on recommit and ageing orders monitoring performance of RRC’s outside Bengaluru, Improvement in scrap rejection, Resource utilization, Technical Problem solving, Skill matrix, Continuous improvement projects, Kaizens skill mapping etc.

 

  • Focusing on overall plant performance with consistence in leveraging the financial aspects
