Job Summary and Mission:


The Warehouse manager’s position is responsible for managing all activities associated with the Bedford Warehouse. Activities include shipping customer orders, inventory storage, maintaining accuracy of four wall inventory, rebalance stock to global customers and other warehouse locations, and managing and replenishing plant inventory.  There is a high level of coordination between the whse, production managers, and customer service to ensure internal and external customers’ orders are shipped on time. The manager is also responsible for budgeting, forecasting and the overall financial performance of the Warehouse. The manager is responsible to coordinate with all carriers via current 3PL to ensure timely delivery of shipments and work with sourcing and the Director of logistics to make sure costs reduction opportunities are identified and executed on an annual basis. 

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all export control and OSHA requirements
  • Preparing annual budget and establish goals to support Warehouse objectives. 
  • Insure timely and accurate reporting of monthly activities and operating statistics.
  • Responsible for managing all carrier relationships.  Includes service provided to customers.
  • Meet or exceed safety, productivity, financial, and quality targets.
  • Provide a safe, clean work environment by maintaining good safety practices, inspecting workplace, promoting good housekeeping practices and thorough investigation of all accidents with appropriate corrective action
  • Develop and maintain an atmosphere of mutual trust, respect, and positive employee relations through open and frequent communication
  • Train and develop highly skilled distribution personnel through performance evaluation and coaching for improvement and advancement
  • Recommend capital improvements
  • Manages plant inventory and coordinate replenishment of shipments to plant.
  • Manage all EHS requirements
  • Coordinate all Human Resource & Sourcing activities with representatives from corporate
  • Mange all SOX compliance and reporting.
  • Monitor Back-orders for both customer orders and stocking locations.  Coordinate priorities of shipping with customer service supervisor and Sr Analyst Supply Chain Planning
  • Quotes airfreight and authorize expense.

 

Education & Experience:

 

  • 4-year degree in Supply Chain/Logistics or equivalent experience supervising/managing team members in a Supply Chain/Logistical role
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience
