Job Summary and Mission:

This role responsibilities include, but are not limited to the installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and calibration of electrical systems. The electrician must support the maintenance team in continual improvements and increase machine uptime in our Fallon operation. This is a multi-craft technician role. Works under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Manager, under its guidance with constant monitoring. The Electrician can also be guided by other managers or supervisors.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Installation and repair: Installing, replacing, and repairing electrical wiring, conduits, switchgear, transformers, motors, generators, control panels, and other industrial electrical components.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving electrical issues by identifying faulty components, using electrical testing equipment, and interpreting system malfunctions.
  • Preventative maintenance: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to identify potential problems and ensure optimal performance.
  • Blueprint reading and interpretation: Understanding and utilizing electrical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to plan installations and repairs.
  • Code compliance: Adhering to all local, state, and national electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Testing and calibration: Testing electrical systems and equipment for voltage, current, continuity, and resistance using specialized testing tools.
  • Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
  • Safety procedures: Following strict safety protocols, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and reporting any potential hazards.
  • Eventually carry out other activities according to the need and/or criteria of their immediate superior, whenever necessary.

 

Skills Needed:

  • High school diploma or general equivalent diploma required.
  • 3-5 years experience required.
  • Technical knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of electrical theory, principles, and practices, including AC/DC circuits, motor controls, power distribution systems, and industrial control systems.
  • Problem-solving abilities: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
  • Physical capabilities: Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, lift heavy equipment, and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints: Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Hand tools and equipment expertise: Familiarity with a variety of electrical tools and testing equipment.
