Shift: 2nd, Monday – Friday, 3pm – 11pm
Purpose of position:
Operate automatic bar & chucking machines to produce finished bodies. This position works under the supervision of the Supervisor - Manufacturing, or in his/her absence, the designee. Duties are performed without constant supervision. Assignments are made daily, and results are reviewed daily or as needed.
Knowledge and Experience:
- A high school diploma or general equivalent diploma.
- Completion of basic math, blueprint reading and gauge-reading training.
- The ability to understand written and oral instructions and communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
- A forklift’s operator’s license.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Safety: Perform preflight checks for both individual machines and work area. Perform safety inspections required for individual machines and associated equipment.
- Production:
- Operates chucker(s) at optimal level to meet or exceed established daily production rates.
- Inspect machined tools visually and with the use of gauges, micrometers, calipers, etc.
- Recognize, change, and replace worn tooling, make adjustments as needed.
- Prepare for and assist the Set-up person in machine changeover.
- Perform daily preventative maintenance procedures.
- Work as fill-in for machine operators as needed.
- Quality: Inspect parts to meet established ISO requirements.
- Delivery: Process shop orders to meet established due dates.
- Inventory: Responsible for management of WIP and components. (i.e., carbide inserts, drills, tool holders, etc.)
- Lean: Participate in lean events and utilize lean processes in daily duties.
- TPM: Perform daily required TPM on chucker(s) and associated equipment.
- 5S: Perform daily required 5S activities for chucker(s) and work area.
- Metrics: Perform daily activities associated with gathering and posting established metrics.
- Data: Accurate and timely recording of required data (i.e. Production, quality etc.)
