Senior Manager, Manufacturing

Huntsville, AL

 

Responsibilities:

  • Motivate, support and provide guidance to production and maintenance staff
  • Ensure all safety and health standards are met to keep the organization 100% accident-free
  • Communicate regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
  • Evaluate machine resources to ensure continued production and minimal downtime
  • Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations
  • Set productivity goals for each manufacturing team
  • Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality
  • Ensure adequate scheduling of staff
  • Identify growth opportunities, both financially and operationally
  • Hold daily and weekly meetings with Supervisors and key staff
  • Perform periodic reviews and development opportunities relating to Supervisors and key personnel
  • Assist subordinates with disciplinary matters as needed
  • Ensure all production targets are met or exceeded
  • Ensure root cause of issues and solutions are implemented to reduce maintenance work orders and repeat issues
  • Utilize Lean, Six Sigma concepts, 5S and good housekeeping practices to ensure efficient flow and minimum waste
  • Champion cost control to ensure plant spending remains at or below established budget levels


Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Strong Preference for Degree in Engineering or Technical Field
  • 8-10 years of experience in Manufacturing
  • 5-7 years of experience in Leadership
  • Strong communication skills and experience in change management
  • Demonstrated experience in driving cultural change by leading continuous improvement and large projects

History of leading injury free work environment
Experience leading a 24/7/365 continuous process operation preferred
