Quality Inspector 

1st shift M-F 6:45 am - 3:15 pm

 

Job Summary: 

 

Execute marking, packaging, and lidding of products with ability to troubleshoot automation. Operators will observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of packaged products to standards. Adjust machine components according to specifications of the product.

 

Key Job Responsibilities: 

 

  • Scope inserts to verify visual characteristics.
  • Scan correct production information.
  • Set up printer and verify labels, numbers and product amounts match route card information.
  • Perform light maintenance.
  • Gather and verify all raw materials per the route card.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to complete orders.
  • Maintain production for multiple lines while performing other duties as assigned.
  • Complete production records and data entry as required.
  • Sustain 5S standards through good housekeeping and execution of standard work.
  • Follow all company safety procedures in completion of job duties.
  • Verify that all safety related devices are in place and functioning.
  • Wear required PPE for the job function.

 

Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills: 

 

  • Ability to use Kennametal Intranet for Edge Prep, ISO Procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to understand defect criteria, insert identification, routings and operating procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic math.
  • Can handle inserts with fingers without chipping.
  •  Ability to read blueprints to determine dimensions to be held while grinding.
  • Ability to use personal computer, SAP MII software, locate documents in QMS.
  • Communicate verbally with set-up persons, inspectors, and supervisors.
  • Proficiency reached in 6 months or less.
