Shift: 1st, Monday – Friday, 7am – 4pm
Job Summary and Mission:
Set up and operate Swiss-type CNC Lathes producing a quality product to blueprint specifications.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor Swiss-type CNC Lathe.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and optimize cutting parameters for product.
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections of products using micrometers, calipers, gages, Keyence, Comparator, etc. to ensure quality products that match the blueprint.
- Enter quantities produced in MII and enter scrap quantities with proper scrap codes.
- Document quantities and scrap on paperwork as well as enter amounts in MII.
- Perform and document set up verifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machine and work area.
- Collaborate with engineers and quality to ensure product compliance and process improvements.
Key Accountabilities:
- Commit to working safely and understand all safety procedures.
- Deviations in routine are handled according to operating procedures and / or work instructions.
- Operator is responsible for following work instructions, assuring product is processed according to proper routings and specifications.
- Must work to meet daily departmental production goals, and strive to improve on time performance.
- Must be reliable and dependable.
- Communicate safety and quality issues with supervisor, team members, and across shifts.
Education and Experience:
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- 2 year technical degree preferred.
- One (1) year recent CNC Machining experience required.
- Three (3) years CNC Machining experience preferred.
Work Environment:
- Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems.
- Safety glasses with side-shields required.
- Safety toe shoes are required.
- Cut resistant gloves when necessary.
- No ear buds in manufacturing area.
Physical Demands:
- Approximately 8 hours standing with two break opportunities per eight hour work period.
- Intermittent walking, reaching, sitting and bending.
- Lifting various parts and trays throughout the shift weighing no more than 35 pounds.
Problem Solving:
- Process work orders by priority lists and due dates.
- Assignments and instructions communicated orally and carried out by standing guidelines.
- Routine problems solved by operator using learned knowledge and production processes.
- Recurring problems and major decisions receive Lead and Supervisor attention.
